![]() This only has 24 which is, you know, a lot of others like the R6 Mark II which was just released up from 20 to 24, so. If you are not going to do too much you know cropping and recomposing and stuff. 24 feels just enough, it’s adequate, just barely enough. I mean, for me I wish all cameras in this category were that 30-35, you know, somewhere in there I think is a better place for them to be. Yeah.īut when it comes to specs, the Sony has a larger megapixel sensor, 33. I mean, the Sony obviously is like $500 more, so starting there price wise. Yes, I mean, it is fascinating the specs are so close together. So let’s talk about the specs of these two cameras. Yeah, Sony has been on that ride for a long time and that’s where they keep improving things. It may be a David and Goliath situation though because Sony has some of the best autofocus in the business now. We want to see how that has changed because they have gone now from contrast to phase detect which is a huge step up. We really want to see exactly what the autofocus looks like on this because that has been the challenge in the past with Panasonic. They are really the camera that most people are going to buy if they want to get into a beginning, kind of, low, not low level but beginning level mirrorless camera. But, again they are entry level cameras and 24 megapixels. So they really are head to head with regards to specs, price, I mean this is about $500 less than the Sony. It kind of has the ideal specs for something in the $2000-$3000 dollar range. A really good option for anyone wanting to do photo and video. And we have the Sony a7 Mark IV which is really a good old work horse. It competes at this level and I am excited to talk more about that. We have the new Lumix S5 Mark II which is a new, really exciting release from Panasonic. ![]() Today on The Slanted Lens we are going to compare 2 cameras that are very much entry level cameras but excellent cameras in their class.
